Sheila Jane Pierce returned to her heavenly father on February 6th, 2014 in Salt Lake City.
She was born at LDS Hospital on January 21st, 1938 to Bertha Viola Hughes and Frank Rapini. Sheila was raised in the Garland/Tremonton area, where she graduated from Bear River High School in 1956, then studied cosmetology in Ogden.Sheila was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. While volunteering for the U.S.O. at Hill Field, she met her future husband, Sanford Bray Pierce who has preceded her in death. They raised three children in Idaho Falls and after returning to Salt Lake, she started a career in floral design. Sheila played an active role in the upbringing of her four grandaughters, sharing in the joy of their lives took Sheila to Southern California, Southport, England and Houston, Texas. Upon returning to her beloved Salt Lake City Sheila resided at Friendship Manor where she brightened everyone's days with her floral arrangements, crochet, and embroidery. She also enjoyed baking special treats for her neighbors. She had a great sense of humor. We will miss her laughter, kindness, creativity and many talents.
Her spirit carries on in daughter; Marian Elizabeth Pena and son-in-law Frank Anthony Pena, daughter; Rebecca Jane Pierce-Fletcher, and in her four granddaughters; Andree Helena Mikulay, Laura Jane Fletcher, Stephanie Rose Fletcher, and Olivia Kathleen Fletcher.. Sheila was ready to be reunited in heaven with 'Sandy' and their son, Lyman Sanford.
