Timothy Asa Berry, 84, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in Sioux City, following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday for Tim and his wife, Mary Ellen, in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Timothy Asa Berry was born on Aug. 24, 1929, the son of Asa and Sybil (Forman) Berry. He served in the Armed Forces from Sept. 4, 1946, to Feb. 4, 1948. He was a decorated veteran of World War II.

He married Mary Ellen Spellman on Aug. 27, 1949. She passed away April 15, 2000. Tim was a native of the Sioux City area.

He was employed with B&L Cattle Buyer at the Sioux City Stockyards for nearly 50 years. He was also self-employed with Eats on the Run lunch wagon for more than 10 years.

Survivors include his daughters, Rita, Tereasa, Roxanne, Michaeline and Mary; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Sybil; his wife, Mary Ellen; and a son, Timothy Allen Berry in 1993.
