Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational Church in Brunswick Monday, July 25, with the Rev. Adolph Lillich, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Creighton, officiating. Interment was in the Brunswick Cemetery.
Mr. Haverkamp was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Frederick Haverkamp was born Jan. 8, 1867 at Halle, Westphalen, Germany, the son of Peter Henry Haverkamp and his wife, Marie Elizabeth. He came to the United Stated in 1875 and settled in Otoe County. He was confirmed in St. Paul's Reformed Church April 10, 1881 at Osage in Otoe County.
Mr. Haverkamp was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Abel Sept. 24, 1891 in Helena Township, Otoe County. He lived there 19 years. To this union nine children were born, all of whom survive him. His wife preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1953.
In 1910 they moved to north of Brunswick in Antelope County. He farmed all his life until 1917, when he purchased a home in Brunswick, where he lived until four years ago, when he went to the home in Rushville to live.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. August (Lydia) Jessen and Mrs. Wm. (Bertha) Pellatz of Burnswick and Mrs. Orlie (Emma) Brannum of Merrill, Ia.; six sons, Julius of near Waverly, Ia., Adolph, August and Pete of Rushville, Fritz of Brunswick and Hobart of Creighton; 31 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
