Billy Joe Dotson, 57, passed away in Mesa, AZ, on Sunday, January 19, 2014.
Billy was born in El Paso, Texas, on March 30, 1956, to Charlie A. Dotson and Ida Dotson.
Billy was raised in Sierra Vista, AZ, where he was preceded in death by his beloved mother Ida. His responsibility became great at the age of 18, taking care of his younger brother and sister, always keeping the love for his mother in mind. The love he had for his mom was never-ending.
Billy Joe graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista in 1974. Billy moved to Whetstone, AZ, where his daughter Crystal was born, and He later moved to Benson, where his son Aaron was born.
Billy worked at several locations in Sierra Vista, including The Suzuki Shop and Culiver Motors, before moving to Benson. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed motocross racing and was known as "The Suzuki Kid." He also loved fishing, hunting, camping, and his dog Duke.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Crystal Grace; son, Aaron Russell; brother James Dotson (Mary); sister, Vickey Dotson-Young (Carl); and his loving nephews and nieces. In addition to his family, he also leaves many friends who loved and adored him. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. A quote from a longtime friend, "A man could not have a better friend than Billy Dotson."
There will be a private memorial and burial service.
