Albert H. Gross, 65, retired president and manager of the local Farmers Syndicate, Inc., died this morning at 1 at his home at 9 Warren Street, Homer after being in failing health for several years.
Mr. Gross was born March 22, 1881 in McLean, the son of VanBuren and Amelia Teeter Gross. Prior to his retirement in February of this year, he had been president and manager of the local syndicate for 24 years.
He was an honorary member of the Cortland Rotary Club where he had been an active member until his health failed. he was a member of Cortlandville Lodge, 470 F. & A. M.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Zelda Vandenberg Gross; one daughter, Mrs. Alton C. Underwood of Westfield, N.J.; two grandchildren, Ann and Patricia Underwood of Westfield and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 at the Beard Memorial Home and interment will be in the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the memorial home Sunday afternoon from 5 to 6.
