MURPHYSBORO - William R. Quigley, 83, died at 4:38 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, in Murphysboro.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

MURPHYSBORO - William R. Quigley Sr., 83, passed away at 4:38 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.

William was born Aug. 26, 1930, in Vergennes, a son to the late Robert Orth and Loral Cornelia (Gilbert) Quigley.

He was united in marriage to Marie A. Baumler on Feb. 11, 1950, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Murphysboro and Marie survives of Murphysboro.

He and Marie attended Murphysboro United Methodist Church. William was employed by Curwood Corporation in Murphysboro and retired after 47 years of service; he worked as a pressman foreman and at the time of his retirement was working in research and development for Curwood. He had coached Little League Baseball in Murphysboro for several years and was a huge St. Louis Cardinal's baseball fan.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with the Revs. Larry Gilbert and Earl Renshaw of Murphysboro United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Marie of Murphysboro; two daughters and sons-in-law; Brenda (Steve) Estel of West Frankfort and Jane Ann (John) Tiemann of Las Vegas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John Quigley and Bill (Carla) Quigley, all of Murphysboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger (Nancy) Quigley; two sisters, Lawanda Williams of Murphysboro and Shirley Arnett of Du Quoin; one sister-in-law, Betty Kerley of Murphysboro; 11 grandchildren, Nick Quigley, Kyle Quigley, Ryan Quigley, Adam Estel, Allen Estel, Aimee Stowers, Kathee Karnes, Jodee Estel, Jenee Kinsey, Kelee Estel and Marissa Tiemann; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
