Mrs. Roberta Hudson, 89, of Syracuse, departed this life Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Mother Hudson was a native of Tchula, Mississippi, and married to the late Johnny James Hudson. To this union was born eighteen children. She was a member of Gethsemane Holiness church under the leadership of her son, Reverend Charlie Hudson. Mother Roberta leaves to cherish her memory to her eight children: Minister Sam Hudson (Marva), Deacon Willie Hudson (Jeanette), Reverend Charlie Hudson (Linda), Mary Alice Hudson-Parks (Alfonso), Virginia Hudson-Hill (Lewis), Johnnie Mae Henry (Eugene), Thelma Hudson-Young (Minister Ronald), Velma Hudson-Graham (Dennis) all of Syracuse, New York, and Jesse Pearl Washington (Sidney) of Tchula, Mississippi. She is survived by 48 grandchildren, 130 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren; her beloved brother, John C. Pullens and a devoted niece, Juner Pullens. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. at Gethsemane Holiness Church, 201 Gifford St., on February 11, 2014. Calling hours will also be held Wednesday, February 12, 11 a.m. to noon at Belle Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 219 Martin Luther King West, with funeral services to follow at noon. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
