BOUNTIFUL — Birdie Adams Udy, 90; of 1150 S. Main, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1986 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful of pneumonia.

She was born May 25, 1896 in Layton, Utah, a daughter of Hyrum and Annie Penrod Adams.

She married Harold C. Layton, July 30, 1912 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced.

She married J. Lloyd Udy Feb. 28, 1940 in American Falls, Idaho. He died September, 1972.

She attended schools in Davis County. She had lived in Layton for 46 years; Rockland, Idaho, for 32 years; Salt Lake for. 7 years and Bountiful the past 5 years.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

She was an accomplished musician. She attended the Utah Conservatory of Music, the McCune School of Music and the California Conservatory of Music.

She owned and operated a beauty Shop in Layton.

She was a member of the Ladies Republican Club, Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary; charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Layton, member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She had worked with the Davis County Extension Agent showing women how to sew during World War I and World War ll. She was a skywatcher during World War ll.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Hyrum J. Layton, Sparks, Nev.; Ben H. Layton, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alvin E. (Lorraine) Jacobson, Bountiful; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Blaine W. Adams, Blanche A. Reed, both of Layton; Bessie A. Grove, Mrs. Joseph P. (Bonnie) Kesler, both of Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by one daughter.

Services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 11 to 11:45 p.m.

Interment, Kaysville, Cemetery.
