He served in the United States Army and later worked at Haynes International. He loved going to Silver Lake Sand Dunes and spending time with his fellow Lakewood Association members who were like family to him. He cherished his grandchildren and loved watching them in their many sporting events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Troy Lee (Tammy) Mooney, Tonya Lynn Mooney, and Trent Lyle (Becky) Mooney; three grandchildren, Scott Allen Mooney, Tyler Lee Mooney, and Ashlee Nicole Mooney; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Mooney; one brother, Paul Richard Mooney; and two sisters, Marquetta McGuire, and Linda Cunningham.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Mooney.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor David Leeder officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
