Her memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2014, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Aberdeen, with Deacon Richard Zephier presiding. Private family burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park in Aberdeen.

Jeanne Louise Leach was born in Ismay, Montana, to Cassius and Beulah (Martin) Leach. She lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, with her grandparents through eight years of school. She then attended Dawson County High School in Glendive, Montana before graduating from Lavina Montana High School with the Class of 1943.

Jeanne married Kenneth Edwards and lived on a farm west of Glendive for many years, where they raised their children, Penny and Gary. While there, she discovered her love of poetry and went on to have several of her poems published. She was also a devoted member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Glendive, serving in the vestry for ten years and also as a lay reader for many years. Jeanne moved to Aberdeen in 1989, where she resided until the time of her death.

In addition to her strong faith, Jeanne also had a strong love for her family and many friends. She was quoted as saying "I lived, loved, and never forgot I was God's child". Jeanne also held a special place in her heart for God's creatures and adopted several dogs and cats throughout her lifetime that brought her much joy. She was a supporter of the Aberdeen Area Humane Society.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Penny James; her son, Gary (Rita) Edwards; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many caring friends in Aberdeen.
