Mae Louise Franklin, 96, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Pampa.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, February 10, 2014, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Groom Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mae Louise was born May 16, 1917 in Groom to Floyd and Avarilla Lewis. She graduated from Groom High School. She married W. O. "Orville" Franklin on March 12, 1936 in Groom. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2003. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1978, moving from White Deer. Mae Louise was a former member of the United Methodist Church of White Deer where she taught Sunday school and was a current member of First United Methodist Church of Pampa. She was a homemaker and a volunteer for Pampa Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Ross Franklin in 1948; a grandson, Johnny Bruce Young in 1985; by 2 sisters, Neva Peters in 2003 and Marguerite Collins in 1990; and by 2 brothers, Alvin Lewis in 1996 and Floyd Lewis in 2003.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Young and husband Allen of Lubbock; three sons, Darrel Franklin and wife Ann and Jerry Franklin and wife Robyn, all of Pampa, and David Franklin and wife Trish of Amarillo; a sister, Barbara McRae and husband Gale of Fritch; nine grandchildren and eighteen grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Virginia, Wendy, Christy, Amelia, and the entire staff at the Meredith House. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Deborah, Carla, Sue, and the staff at Interim Hospice.
