SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Sammy Wilson, 58, will be held, 1:00 p.m., Friday February 14, 2014 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, 1666 Alston Street. Officiating will be Rev. Harry Blake, Pastor, Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Chapel of Good Samaritan.
Sammy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 23, 1956. He graduated from Grambling State University with a Master's degree in Social Work.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessie Jordan; and brother, Edward J. Cox.
Mr. Wilson is survived by two children, Heather Wilson, Miami, FL and Hassan Wilson, Dallas, TX; three sisters, Dorothy Blow, Shirley Bell and Bobbie Davis; four brothers, Andrew Wilson, John Wilson, Tom Robinson and Rev. Alfred Wilson; and a many other relatives and friends.
