Sister Mary de Lourdes was born Agnes Marie Charbonnet on 26 September 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the beloved daughter of the late Agnes Noonan Taylor Charbonnet and Francis D'Assisi (aka Francois d'Assise) "Frank" Charbonnet Jr.

Sister-in-law of Shirley Scanlan Taylor wife of J. Fant Taylor Sr.

Sister of the late Lucille Taylor (Chester) Calkins Sr., John Taylor (Kathleen) Charbonnet, Catherine Taylor, James Fant (Shirley) Taylor Sr., and Francis D. Charbonnet (Jean) III.

Aunt of Chester (Annie) Calkins Jr., John (Dorothy) Charbonnet, Michael (Helen) Charbonnet, Kathleen Charbonnet (Peter) Schaumber, Susan Taylor(Jim) Wadick, J. Fant Taylor Jr., Robert G. Taylor, David (Missy) Taylor, Patricia Taylor (Robert) Lapeyre, Margaret Taylor (Richard) Bailey, Karen Charbonnet (Tony) Carter, Michael (Beth) Charbonnet, Marc Charbonnet, Craig (Sheila) Charbonnet, John Paul (Suellyn) Charbonnet, Anne Charbonnet (Anton) Osoinach, and the late Agnes Calkins (Melvin) Dauterive, Lucille Calkins (Robert) Bosche, and John E. Taylor.

Also survived by three additional generations of over a hundred nieces and nephews.

Granddaughter of the late Bridget Fant and Dennis J. Noonan; and Louise Anna Costanzi and Francois D'Assisi Charbonnet Sr.

Sister Mary de Lourdes entered religious life on August 12, 1943 and took her final vows on August 20, 1952 in the Order of the Sisters of Christian Charity (S.C.C.)

Sister Mary de Lourdes joined the Sisters of the Living Word (S.L.W.) three decades later when the new order was founded.

She had been in religious life for 70 years.

Sister Mary de Lourdes taught in St. Louis, Missouri; Detroit, Michigan; and at St. Raphael the Archangel and Immaculate Heart of Mary Schools in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1965, Sister Mary de Lourdes became the first principal of St. Edward the Confessor School in Metairie, Louisiana, serveing as principal of the school for 45 years and continued as Principal Emeritus until her death.

Visitation was held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Parkway, in Metairie, Louisiana, on Thursday evening, 6 February 2014, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation also on Friday, 7 February 2014, at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 4921 West Metairie Avenue in Metairie at 9:30 AM with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon.

Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery # 3, New Orleans, Louisiana.
