Norris Quam, 78, Snohomish, Washington, was born on June 22nd, 1924 near Fargo, North Dakota. He was adopted and brought to Underwood, Minnesota by his parents Olaf and Ruth Matson Quam in April 1925. After graduating from Underwood High School in 1942, he spent two years in the army during WWII serving in the Philippine Islands, New Guinea, and Korea.

On June 29th, 1947, he married Jeanne Gronner and they had three children, Noreen (Don) Jensen, Ken, and Gary. They lived in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and then the Fargo-Moorhead area for many years where Norris was a salesman in the truck parts industry. After moving from Moorhead in 1970, Norris and Jeanne owned an operated the Coast-To-Coast hardware store in Starbuck, Minnesota. Norris later moved the family to Luverne, Minnesota where they lived for 27 years. He worked in Sioux Falls, South Dakota during that time also as a truck parts salesman. In 1997, Norris and Jeanne moved to Snohomish, Washington to be near their children and grandchildren.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Ruth, and his Daughter Noreen Jensen who died June 13, 2001.

He is survived by his Wife Jeanne, Sons Kenneth Quam and Gary Quam, son-in-law Donald Jensen, Grandchildren Cassandra Foley and Shawn Jensen, great-grandson Derek Foley, sisters-in-law Verna Johnson, Merelle Engebretson, Leila Miller, Alice Gronner and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family memorial service was held Saturday, February 22nd, 2003 at Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish, Washington.
