- Edward Lee Black, 81, of 1819 W. Emmett St., Kissimmee, died June 28. Born in Richmond, Ky., he moved to Kissimmee from there in 1937. He retired in 1977 after teaching in the Osceola County School system for 37 years. He was an elder and trustee in the First Christian Church, Kissimmee. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Florida Retired Educators Association, Osceola County Retired Teachers Association, Kissimmee Athletic Association, American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute, National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Inc. and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. Survivors include his wife, E. DeLoris; daughters, Mary Lee Joiner, Kissimmee, C. Jeanne Muir, Jupiter; brother, Frank Bush Black, Long Beach, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Services were held July 1 from the First Christian Church, Kissimmee, with Ross C. Pepper III officiating. Casketbearers were Mack Allen, Mike Chambers, Jimmy Chapman, Herb Chavel, Sid Foulke and Phil Holt. Interment followed in Osceola Memory Gardens, Kissimmee. Grissom Funeral Home, Kissimmee, was in charge of arrangements.
