Norma Lea (Mace) Bennett was born July 20, 1928 in Allerton Hospital, Allerton, Iowa, the only daughter of Roy and Isal (Brees) Mace and departed this life on December 10, 2010 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, Iowa.
Norma was married to Robert Bennett on March 13, 1947 at Allerton, Iowa and they were the parents of four children, William, Franklin, Barbara and Thomas.
Norma joined the Methodist Church in Allerton as a young girl and even though her membership moved as she lived in other locations, her loyalty remained with the Allerton Church.
Norma taught country school for two years before marrying and starting a family. She also worked at various jobs as the family grew. The last years she worked for Clyde Black and Son Hybrid Seed Farms near Ames, Iowa as office manager.
In retirement Norma enjoyed travel, visiting and spending time with her children and their families.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents Roy E. and Isal M. Mace, her husband Robert Bennett, one son William, and her brother Marvin Mace.
She is survived by her children: son Frank and wife Linda Bennett of Grundy Center, Iowa, daughter Barbara and husband Jack Schmoll of Wilton, Iowa, and son Tom and wife JoEllyn Bennett of Ankeny, Iowa. Norma is also survived by seven grandchildren: Tuner and wife Belynda Bennett of Shakopee, Minnesota, Amy Bennett of Grundy Center, Iowa, Mike Bennett of Ankeny, Iowa, Chad and wife Ashly Bennett of Austin, Texas, Kristy and husband Tony Stevens of Seattle, Washington, Luke and Sally Bennett of Ankeny, Iowa and Michelle and husband Art Davis of Boone, Iowa, eleven great grandchildren: Vanessa Ash, Elizabeth Ash, Mary Grace Ash, Lydia Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Kaleb Bennett, Brandi Botkin, Justus Davis, Gavin Davis, Jada Wierck, and Clark Bennett, a sister-in-law Floriene Mace, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
