Sam Downs, 93, Cadiz, died at 8:15pm Saturday at Hilltop Nursing Home, Kuttawa.
Services will be at 2pm Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Cemetery, Trigg County.
Visitation will begin at 4 this afternoon at the funeral home.
A native of Trigg County, Downs, was born Sept. 1, 1902, son of the late John B. and Etna Sumner Downs. He was retired from the State Highway Department, for whom he was a foreman, a member of Canton Masonic Lodge No. 242 and a member and deacon of Canton Baptist Church. His wife, Maggie William Downs, died in 1977.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Dawson, Cadiz.
