Donald was the son of Otto Albert & Elizabeth Shoopman. Mr Shoopman was a Veteran of WWII serving in the US MARINES. Marine Private 1st Class Donald Shoopman was awarded the Bronze Star Medal at a decoration ceremony following the conquest of Okinawa. During the battle , Donald laid a telephone line through enemy territory to establish communications.
