LEWISTOWN - Perry E. Aitkin, 70, of Lewistown, died at 11:39 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born Jan. 19, 1944, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John McClintic "Tink" Aitkin and Ruth May (Snyder) Aitkin. Perry is survived by: his wife Margaret C. (Goss) Aitkin, whom he married on Feb. 11, 1968; his children, Tammy Woodal and husband, Donnie, of Burnham, Paul Aitkin, of Lewistown, Teresa Aitkin, of McVeytown, Roger Aitkin and wife, Sara Kathryn, of Lewistown; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter He is also survived by his brothers, J. Harold Aitkin and Ralph P. Aitkin, both of Lewistown. He was employed at the Spigelmyer Lumber County, Remmey Pallet Company and Bickel Wood Products. He was a lifetime member of the Decatur Fire Company, a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association, Middlecreek Valley Antique Machinery Association, Tuscarora Heritage Days, Grease Steam, and Rust Association, in McConnellsburg and many more. Perry loved being with his grandchildren and great granddaughter and spending time with family and friends. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Interment will be in Little Valley Presbyterian Cemetery.
His family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
