Mona Katherine Bailey Taylor, 94 passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Marie Taylor of Spokane, Washington, where she had been living for the past 14 years.

She was born November 11, 1919, in Lyman, Idaho to Alfred Glen Bailey and Clara Lavina Fransen Bailey. She had five brothers, two older and three younger; Alfred Udale, Glen LeRoy, Jack Fransen, Clair Bryce, and Juel Garth. They have all preceded her in death except her youngest brother, Juel Garth of Warren, Oregon.

Mona graduated from Cedar Point Grade School on May 9, 1934 and from seminary on May 23, 1937.

On July 5, 1938, she married Edward Russell Taylor at the home of Bishop Joseph F. Jensen in Groveland, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 11, 1962. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2000.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a compassionate service leader and as a Sunday School Teacher.
She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering.

Mona worked at Basic American, in housekeeping at Bingham Memorial Hospital and State Hospital South, as a clerk at Dan's Mighty Market and Stoors Market and as a cook at The Frost Top Drive In.

She is survived by children, Dale Lamont (Marie) Taylor of Spokane, WA, Barbara Wiser of Blackfoot, Idaho and Bert LeRoy (Mona) Taylor of Basalt, Idaho; eighteen grandchildren and sixty five great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Russell Taylor, son, Russell LaVar Taylor and son-in-law, Dean Scott Wiser.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
