Mrs. Ella Mae "Rabbit" Barnett, of Florence, was born June 23, 1938, in Lauderdale County to the late Albert and Ida Mae Barnett. She departed this life Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Mitchell Hollingsworth in Florence, Ala.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. John Primitive Baptist Church, Florence, Ala.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Julia Ingram, Florence, Ala., and Shirley Ann Butler, Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Samuel Barnett (Ruth) and Charles Barnett, all of Florence; devoted niece, Quinacco Gabriel; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, 6-7 p.m., at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, Ala.
The funeral service for Mrs. Barnett will be noon Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, Ala., with the Rev. Trevor Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Florence, Ala. Public viewing will be Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, Ala.
