David Alcorn (10/17/1934 to 1/31/2014), a resident of Tehachapi, passed away in his home Friday, January 31st, 2014. David lived most of his life in Hanford, was a member of First United Methodist Church, and graduated from Hanford High School in 1952. He went on to play football at COS and pursued a degree in criminology. In 1954 David married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Fry. David was employed by the Kings County Sheriff's Office and eventually served as Undersheriff. While with the Sheriff's Office he was chosen to attend the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia.
David spent his free time fishing and going on trips with his RV club and camping with his family. He moved to Tehachapi in 2002 to be closer to his children.
David is survived by his wife Ruth Alcorn, brother John Alcorn, daughter Renee Nicovich and husband Bruce, daughter Brenda Raphael and husband Tommy, four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on February 8th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hanford. Friends and family are welcome to attend a gathering following the service.
