James Samuel Westwood was born March 29, 1882 at Huntington, Emery County, a son of George and Ellen Rowberry Westwood. He was married to Susan Lydia Harrison April 20, 1911 at Provo, Utah. Mrs. Westwood passed away in 1962 (correct date is Nov 4, 1963), after the couple had moved to Bountiful.
Mr. Westwood, along with his family, operated a large farming and dairy operation on acreage which now contains Palisades Subdivision for many years. The pioneer livestock operator also ranged cattle in the lands north of Moab, much of which is now within the confines of Arches National Monument.
