The death has occurred of Mr. Samuel Chatfield, of Concord, a member of the firm of Chatfield and Brown, licensed surveyors, at the age of 57. The deceased gentleman, who was a son of the late Captain W. Chatfield, of the Honourable East India Company, did much pioneer work as a surveyor for the Lands Departmont years ago. He was a prominent Freemason. A widow, two sons, and a daughter mourn his loss. 'On New Year's Day he was seized with pleurisy, and heart failure supervening he passed peacefully away on Saturday.
