Never married, Miss Lovejoy was the daughter of Captain Howard Bartlett Lovejoy and Lillian Mary (Todd) Lovejoy. She was the sister of Captain Bartlett H. Lovejoy, Captain Frank Edward Lovejoy and Captain Stanley T. Lovejoy, all Puget Sound mariners. She worked for her father at Puget Sound Freight Lines, then taught school for many years in Seattle at Lincoln High School.
