Wednesday morning Henry C. Higgins, another of Andover's old citizens, died at his home on Morton Street.

Mr. Higgins was born in Randolph, Vt, sixty-nine years ago last September. When a young man he came to Lawrence where he worked in the grocery business. At the outbreak of the war he enlisted in the 11th Massachusetts Infantry Company B. While at the war he contracted fever and ague so that for many years he has been unable to do anything. Previous to his death, however, he had been able to be around, and had only been confined to the house for about two weeks.

The deceased is survived by a widow, five sons, Fred W., William H., George A., Frank P., Charles A., and three daughters, Mrs. Peter Dushame, Misses Bertha O. and Grace A.

Funeral services were held at his late home this afternoon, Rev. F.A. Wilson, assisted by Dr. Bancroft, officiating.

The members of the local Post, G.A.R., of which the deceased was a member, were present. Interment was in [South Church Cemetery].
