Charles Muller, Jr., 93, of Sarasota, died on Jan. 31, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wed., at Toale Brothers Chapel at 40 N. Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL. Funeral arrangements by: Toale Brothers Funeral Homes.
Following the memorial, services will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 1 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Highway 72, Sarasota, FL, 34241.
Charles was born in Brooklyn, NY on Aug, 11, 1920. Moved to Sarasota, FL in 1983 from Glen Cove, NY. He retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 30 years active from 1941 to 1971, 20 years active duty and 10 years in the reserves. Followed by a 20 year career at CBS TV in NYC as a Technical Supervisor from 1963 to 1983. He was also very active in the Masons being a past Master and Right Worshipful Deputy District Grand Master. Charles was also active in the Shrine both in NY and Sarasota. Belonging to both the Oriental Band and the Mariners. For over 40 years he also belonged to The Royal Orders of Jesters both in NY and Sarasota, being the director in Sarasota. Also in the Eastern Star being Patron three times then District Grand Lecture. After retiring he and his wife Ruth loved to travel, visiting many countries. He was very happy and proud to receive his BS from the University of Chicago while holding a full time job and raising a family. Charles and Ruth celebrated their 70th anniversary this past December. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth; sons, Charles of Bensalem, PA and Kenneth of Sea Cliff, NY; grandson Michael.
