Mrs. Hollie Johnson was born March 29, 1888 in Murphysboro, the daughter of Firth and Mary E. Davis Smith. Her surviving siblings included Ralph Smith of St. Loui8s and Mrs. Myrtle Perkins of Libertyville.
She married Orvel T. Johnson on May 2, 1908 in Jonesboro. He died August 20, 1949. Survivors included her daughters, Mrs. Ina Mae Center of Murphysboro and Mrs. Myrtle Meier of St. Louis, MO.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist church and of the Royal Neighbors.
Mrs. Johnson was dead on arrival at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 14, 1971. Death was attributed to heart complications after a lengthy illness. Her funeral service was held at the Crawshaw Mortuary Chapel in Murphysboro. Rev. Merris M. Dice officiated.
