Samuel J. Poma, age 69 of Sterling Heights, passed away January 24, 2014. He was born in Detroit on July 20, 1944; the son of Joseph and Mamie (nee Tumbarella) Poma.
Beloved husband of Marlene for 16 years. Loving father of Russ, John and Julie (Gene) Noe. Caring step-father of Michelle (Steve) Utrup and Wendy (Rich) Altenhoff. Adoring Gramps of Ripley, Alexa, Sammy, Lily, Maddie, Addison and Autumn. Dear brother of Aggie Mannella and the late Louisa Harvener. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Sam loved to fish and will be remembered for his gentle kindness, positive attitude and long jokes.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm with a scripture service at 6:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren.
Instate Monday, January 27, 2014 at 9:30am until time of mass 10:00am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd., Utica. Fr. Salvatore Palazzolo will officiate.
Interment to take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
