CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Donald S. Wamsley, age 83, of Centerville, died Monday, February 3, 2014, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born February 17, 1930, in Fayette County, Indiana, to William G. and Ruby Mae Cullins Wamsley and lived in Centerville most of his life. Don was a 1948 graduate of Alquina High School, where he was proud to be a "Blue Arrow," and a 1958 graduate of Earlham College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. Don was owner/insurance agent for State Farm Insurance, retiring in 1995 after 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Don was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman, and enjoyed I.U. basketball. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ruth Lee Wamsley, to whom he was married July 22, 1952; Jennifer (Howard) Millsaps of Centerville, Mike Wamsley of Centerville, , and Jeff Wamsley of Brownsburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Matthew (Becky) Millsaps of Muncie, Emily (Mike) Keesling of Richmond, Sarah Wamsley, Michael Wamsley, and Katherine Wamsley, all of Brownsburg; great-grandchildren, Annalynn Grace Millsaps and Addelyn Keesling; sisters, Eileen Irrgang and Marilynn Miller, both of Springersville, Indiana; brother, Claiborne (Alice) Wamsley of Monterey, Indiana; nieces; nephews; friends; and his State Farm family. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
