Leonard loved and respected his parnets, who were good pioneers. He helped his father on the farm and often went out cutting cedar posts. He always loved animals and had a team of horses and a special riding horse. After serving in World War I he bought a farm of his own.

In 1924 he went to Layton, Utah and got a job with the Woods Cross Canning Company, where he worked for twenty-five years. It was here in Layton that he met Leone Adams. In 1952 he went to work at Hill Air Force Base until retirement.

Retirement gave Leonard time to work around his home and to grow a beautiful rose garden and other flowers.

He filled many hours helping his family.
