14, at 8:30 p.m. at St. Johns Hospital
there in Springfield. He had been a
patient since August 3 but had had a
very lengthy illness.
Mr. Bond was born September 26, 1912,
in Albion, the son of Arch and Amy
May Bond. He married Victoria Stefl,
February of 1931. In 1937, the Bonds
moved to Springfield from Albion.
He had retired from his job as
salesman for Industrial Chemical of
Springfield. He was a member of the
West Side Christian Church; the
Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 436;
and a member of the Illinois Sheriffs
Association. Virgil Bond is survived
by his wife, Victoria, of Springfield;
his daughter Mrs. E. Gean (Archalee)
Davis of Simi Valley, Cal.; and four
grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Bond will be
Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Nale
Funeral Home in Albion. Burial will
be at Graceland. Mr. Larry Music will
officiate. Friends may call after
6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at
the funeral home.
