Robert was born in Youngstown, on Dec. 11, 1943, the son of Harold and Katherine (Chuckovich) Paine.
He had been a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Robert married the former Judith Ritenour on June 29, 1978, and she survives.
Robert had been a self-employed truck driver for most his life. He had been attending the Bethel Church of the Brethren and had joined the Columbiana branch of the VFW.
Robert is survived by his wife, Judith at home; daughters Jeanette (Frank) Crozier of North Lima and Rachael (Michael) Crozier of Petersburg; brother Ronald Paine of North Carolina; and seven grandchildren.
Robert was predeceased by his parents.
Graveside services will be held for Robert at Zion Cemetery on Rapp Road at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.
