Patricia "Pat" Pollock entered into eternal life Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born April 15, 1930, in Cincinnati to Daniel Billinghurst and Josephine "Irene" Covert. Her family later moved to Phoenix, where she attended St. Francis Xavier High School and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. After receiving her nursing degree in 1951, she was encouraged by fellow classmates and friends to pursue her career in Morenci. She loved the people and community and definitely decided to stay when she met the love of her life, Jim Pollock. They were married in May of 1953 and had six children.

Pat worked as a surgical nurse at the Old Morenci Hospital emergency room and ended her career as an emergency room charge nurse. She retired after 41 years of service. Although retired, she continued to be on call for anyone in need. Pat was a very kind and caring person, often lovingly referred to as an "angel of mercy." She compassionately cared for the needs of others and treated them as if they were her own family. She was the first person many people thought of calling when sick or wanting advice.

A devout Catholic, Pat was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister, catechism teacher and member of the Association of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Fund-raising Committee. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and also loved spending time at her cabin in Luna, N.M. She will be missed by many.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Karen (Danny) Sanchez of Clifton; and sons Jim (Pam) Pollock of Clifton, Peter Pollock of Clifton and Robert (Michelle) Pollock of Thatcher; as well as 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and daughters Annette and Carol.

Services were held Friday, April 13, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church, Clifton.
