Naomi S. Bennett of Anderson, Indiana, passed away after an eight- month battle with leukemia. She was born July 24, 1927 in Effingham, Illinois, and resided most of her life in Anderson.
Naomi graduated from Altamont High School in Altamont, Illinois.
She retired from General Motors after several years of service and also worked as a florist at the Markleville Greenhouse for many years.
She regularly attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson for over 60 years.
Naomi is survived by her children, Rhonda Bennett of Indianapolis.; Mark (Diana) Bennett of Markleville.; step-son, Larry Bennett (Cindy) of Shirley, a brother, Milton "Wade" Sutter of Effingham, Illinois. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Robert Roth of Orlando, Florida.; Katie Bennett of Garland, Texas; and Becky Maiorana (Jon) of Macomb, Michigan. Additionally, she is survived by niece, Darlene Lofton and nephew Dwight Sutter of Effingham, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bennett; mother, Susie Burch Sutter; father, Reuben Sutter; and a sister, Madonna Kelly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be on Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Cable officiating.
Burial will take place in the McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ONU Scholarship Fund at the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson.
