She was born January 6, 1920 in Parowan, Utah, a daughter of Randle (Bren) Eyre and Hessie May Wilcock. She spent her childhood years in Parowan; Cowley, Wyoming; and Montana.
She married Carlton Whitney Orton on November 26, 1938 in Parowan. They were married 52 years. They moved to Hiawatha, Utah in 1942 and to the Ogden area in 1963 where she lived until 2003, when she moved to South Towne Retirement Community in Sandy, Utah.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She worked at Kmart as the Toy Department Manager where she received several awards.
She loved gardening, flowers, cats, genealogy, reading and embroidery work. She always had an immaculate yard full of beautiful flowers. She was a wonderful cook and made the best homemade bread ever. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three children; Jerald Wilcock (Jean) Orton, Montrose, CO; Patricia Ann (Larry) Edwards, South Jordan, UT; Michael Carl Orton, Salt Lake City, UT; brothers Larry Randle (Shirley) Wilcock, Tucson, AZ; Fredric Jackson (Pam) Wilcock, Ogden, UT; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carlton Whitney Orton; son, Roger Mark Orton; grandson, Jerry Wayne Orton; brothers, Mark Jackson Wilcock, Samuel Richard Wilcock, Robert Jackson Wilcock, and two sisters, Virginia Wilcock and Marie Thiel.
