Rita C. Lopez, age 77, of Brady, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at her residence in Brady, Texas.
She was born June 1, 1936 in Brady to Genaro Camargo and Francisca (Garza) Camargo. She was a lifelong resident of the Brady area. She married Tomas Lopez on August 9, 1982 in Brady. She worked in the Brady I.S.D. cafeteria for over 15 years and prior to that she had worked at Roddie Wool Scouring for over 20 years. She attended the Christian Community Church in Brady where she was active in the church choir.
Funeral services for Rita Lopez will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady, Texas at with Reverend Joe Angel Ledezma officiating. Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Wake Service at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady.
Rita is survived by her husband Tom of the home; sons Henry Ledezma and wife Linda of Austin, Julio Ledezma Jr. and wife Elda of Brady, Richard Ledezma and wife Stephanie of Brady, Joe Angel Ledezma and wife Anna of Brady and Gilbert Ledezma of Ft. Worth; daughters Grace Wedell and husband John of San Antonio and Cynthia Chapin and husband Cheyenne of Columbia, TN; step-brothers Thomas Lopez, David Lopez and Domingo Lopez of Midland; brother Tony Camargo and wife Sandra of Lubbock; sisters Irene Alcorta of Lubbock, Hope Camargo of Brady and Sally Zapata of Brady. She is also survived by grandchildren Melissa Ledezma, Katrina Cortez, Cynthia Cortez, Angela Ledezma, Veronica Alizza, Jennifer Alizza, Roman Roque, Jordan Ledezma, Christina Sharpe, Louie Chapin, Jake Chapin, Zachary Chapin, Justin Chapin, Nicholas Chapin, Dustin Ledezma, Amanda Ledezma, Scott Bornhorst, Ami Bornhorst and Andrea Valdez and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Lorraine Ledezma; son Pastor Johnny Ledezma, brothers Genaro Camargo Jr. and David Camargo; sister Olga Morin and one infant sister.
