Robert L. Cadwalader age 83 of Hot Springs Village, AR formerly of Bushnell, IL area passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Wednesday January 29, 2014 in Hot Springs Village, AR. Robert was born on July 31, 1930 in Macomb, IL to Henry L. and Alice Hart Cadwalader. He married Mary B. Spangler on September 23, 1951 in Bushnell, IL. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of Hot Springs Village, AR, 2 Sons and 1 Daughter – Mark Cadwalader of Hot Springs, AR, Debbie (Louis) Franco of Wheaton, IL and Robert (Geraldine) Cadwalader of Glen Elen, IL, 2 Grandchildren – Erin Cadwalader of Alexandria, VA and Brittany Cadwalader of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by sister-in-law Leona Yocum, brothers-in-law Ernest "Spud" Spangler and Duane "Cap" (Linda) Spangler, and beloved nieces and nephews to numerous to mention – most from the Bushnell area. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War and was proud of his 42 year career with J.C. Penny Company retiring in 1990 and working as a store manager for the last 20 years of his career. He was an active member of the Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village, AR and was a standing member of the Lions Club where he served as President providing devoted service of others.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday February 6, 2014 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, IL with Reverend Dr. Walter L. Smith officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the time of services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to either the local Lions Club or to your favorite charity in his name.
