Arthur Leroy Montgomery, 71, of Lone Pine, died at 11:02 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014, in his home with his family by his side.

He was born January 29, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Ray E. and Elizabeth I. Earnest Montgomery. He was employed by Fairmont Supply, from where he retired.

Mr. Montgomery was a member of North Ten Mile Baptist Church and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. He also was a member of the National Pike Steam Engine Association. He was a graduate of Trinity High School.

Mr. Montgomery enjoyed bowling, playing dart ball, and in his earlier years, enjoyed playing softball. He loved to work with his dad and brothers on steam engines.

He served in the U.S. Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman (Rifle M-14) Badge.

In July 1974, he married Mary Ann Boris-Sachek, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Barry L. (Lisa) Sachek of Washington and Richard W. Sachek of Texas; a daughter, Leann Sachek of Washington; two brothers, Ray A. (Mary) Montgomery and Jerry (Carol) Montgomery; four grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew and Alexa Sachek and Jakob Burke; two great-grandchildren, D'avery Wells and Davin Cessna; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a nephew, Mark A. Montgomery.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, in the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Schneider officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and the U.S. Army.
