Robert was a Weaver
Robert was a weaver by trade. He moved with his family away from the coast to Windham, CT, where he remained during the birth of his children, and until the death of his wife in 1781. He then went to Lempster, NH, to reside with his son Samuel and his wife, Anna Huntington. All three lived long lives and the joint headstone over their three graves in Lempster Cemetery is inscribed: "Reader, Life is Short".

The applicant for SAR membership did not supply any documentation. Later DAR membership was denied fir lack of proof. He may have been attached to a unit as a weaver, but too old for battle.
