Problem re identification of mother: Although Marcus' death certificate says his mother was Violet(te) Blackmore Carr, she has to be his stepmother. Violet(te) died in 1853, and Marcus' father married Sarah Blackmore in 1856. Marcus was born in 1857, so Sarah has to be Marcus' mother.
Problem with Marcus' age: Marcus is listed as age 3 in the 1860 census, age 13 in the 1870 census, age 23 in the 1880 census, age 43 in the 1900 census (w/ a Feb 1857 date of birth), and age 63 in the 1920 census, all pointing to a year of birth of 1857 instead of the 1858 that is on his death certificate and also in the Clinton County cemetery book and on the tombstone. To==On the contrary, he was listed as 52 in 1910, and 72 in 1930.
