Otto Louis Paul, the 2nd oldest child of Conrad and Emma (Fangmeyer) Paul, was born on October 23, 1916 in rural Plymouth, Nebraska. He passed from this life on January 30, 2014, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, Nebraska, at the age of 97 years, 3 months and 7 days.

He was baptized on November 12, 1916 at Peace Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Nebraska by Pastor A. Heckel and was confirmed at the same church on October 4, 1931, also by Pastor A. Heckel. His confirmation verse was 1Peter 5:5. He attended public school southwest of Plymouth through the 8th grade.

Otto was united in marriage to Elsie Mohrman on August 10, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron, Nebraska. There were three sons born to this union, Kermit, David and Bruce.

Otto farmed until his retirement in 1981. Besides Plymouth he lived in the Deshler, Byron and Davenport areas. He was a member of the school board, church council, Blue Valley Lutheran Homes board, the Commercial Club in Byron and the Byron Lions Club. He enjoyed playing cards, wood working, shelling walnuts, and made clocks and wall hangings from the walnut shells.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad & Emma Paul, his wife, Elsie, two sons, David and Bruce Paul, two brothers, Harry and Elmer and two sisters, Edna and Matelda.

He is survived by his son, Kermit (Marsha) Paul of Hellertown, PA, three grandchildren: Stephen, Kevin and Jason; two great-grandchildren: Aidan and Kylie; one brother, Louis; four sisters: Laverna, Elda, Elaine and Margaret; daughter-in-law, Mary (Dave's wife) and many other relatives and friends.

Following Otto's wishes he was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date.
