Second child and first daughter of Elizabeth Criddle and David Craig of Layton, Davis, Utah.

The area they settled was originally known as Kay's Ward and more locally, Kay's Creek, which was later called Kaysville before Layton was set apart as a separate town from Kaysville.

Lizzie was a bright, sweet child. She was delivered at the family home, just above the hollow on what was then, the north end of Fort Lane.

David Craig had built the two room home for his bride, Elizabeth, when they first settled the section of land he had purchased.

Lizzie was named for her mother, Elizabeth, but even her dainty "calling cards", which young ladies of that era presented when ever visiting others' homes, was inscribed with delicate flowers and "LIZZIE CRAIG".

She was a delicate flower, who along with her older brother, gave her mother much love and comfort after the tragic death of their father; but Lizzie, also, was too soon taken from Elizabeth.
