Jimmy Lee Pavey, son of Leonard and Margaret and Mildred Pavey, died January 10, 1993 at age 58.


He was born May 26, 1934 and grew up in Lincoln, graduating from Northeast High School. He spent much time participating in sports and was one of Northeast's major football tackles. He married Phyllis Lewis in Lincoln July 15, 1967, and they celebrated their 25th anniversary this past summer. He was employed as No. 1 driver for Ray Foreman Transfer. He and his wife had several children as well as foster children.


He had been a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Crete since March 1973 when he transferred from Bennet Community Church.


Survivors include his parents; Leonard and Margaret Pavey; mother, Mildred Pavey; wife, Phyllis; sons, Loren Johnson and William Crocker of Lincoln and Jay Pavey of Fremont; daughters, Joy Pavey of Fremont, Debra Kempston of Utica, and Jean Manley of Seward; brother, Thomas Pavey of Cherry Valley, California; sister, Barbara Voehringer of Newark, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents.


Services were held January 13, 1993 at Kuncl Funeral Home with the Rev. J.B. Choate officiating. Soloist was Janet Jeffries with Pat Butt accompanying.


Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Ivan Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Ryan Crocker, Brandon Crocker, Merle Manley, and Darold Kempston. Honorary pallbearers were Maynard Hessheimer, Lester Hunt, Gary Stone, Gary Heinemann, John Hoesche, and Frank Matejka.
