Eli Mull Strimel, 94 of Charlestown, MD, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 in the Citizens Nursing Center, Havre de Grace, MD. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Charlestown on September 14, 1915, the son of the late John Ralph and the late Harriett A. Hill Strimel. He was the husband of the late Katherine Strimel who died in 1988. He retired from Thiokol after 23 years of service as a millwright. A member of St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, North East, MD, he enjoyed gardening and work. Survivors include one son: one sister:one brother: and 2 grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 3 children: John E. Strimel, Bobby E. Strimel and Billy E. Strimel: and 4 siblings: Doris Anderson, John Strimel, Edna Sullums and Arthur Strimel. Funeral services, conducted by Father Samuel Hartman, will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow in Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made to St. Mary Anne's Church, in care of the funeral home.
