Preston McCoy Wright, Sr. passed away January 31, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Wright was born September 12, 1937, in Edenton, NC. He is survived by his wife of 55+ years Betty Langford Wright of Little Texas; his son Preston Wright, Jr. (Julie) of Birmingham; his daughter Pam Wright Thomas (Keith) of Auburn; his granddaughter Savannah Rose Wright; his grandsons Kristopher Preston and Karson Palmer Thomas; his sisters Marie Griffin, Jean Wiggins (Robert) of Edenton, NC, and Dot Gregory (C.B.) of Hertford, NC; his brother Daniel Wright (Gayle) of Florence, SC; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents William James Wright and Mattie Wright Cayton; his sisters Andy Wright, Margie Wright and Josephine Nixon; and his brother Bobby Wright. Mr. Wright retired from Wilson Oil Company in Auburn. He served in the U.S. Air Force eleven years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an avid golfer, and NASCAR and AU Football fan.
