Obsequies for Dr. Arthur Hickox, 68, widely known Oakland physicians and surgeon, fatally stricken at his home yesterday by a heart attack, will be held tomorrow at 10:30 o'clock, with the Rev. Elmer Henry Adams, a life-long friend, giving the funeral address.
The Rev. Adams is pastor of a Palo Alto Seventh Day Adventist church. Interment will be at Mountain View cemetery.
Dr. Hickox was born in Napa on October 21, 1962. He was educate in California schools and spent many years in Australia as a medical missionary. Returning to the United States he began practice in Oakland 213 years ago. He was stricken as he walked in the garden at him home, 5273 Cole street, and died almost immediately afterwards.
The funeral will be held from the Fruitvale chapel of Clarence N. Cooper, Fruitvale avenue and East Sixteenth street.
Dr. Hickox is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred G. Hickox; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Anderson and Miss Esther Hickox; two sons, Wan and William Hickox; two sisters, Mrs. George MacDowell and Mrs. Irene Turner of Berkeley, and a brother, William A. Hickox of Santa Cruz.
Dr. Hickox was a m ember of the Fruitvale branch of the Masonic Lodge.
