The Huntsville Times, Friday, January 11, 2002: A. W. Boles of New Market, a retired farmer and truck driver, died Thursday. He was 81. Mr. Boles was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Home Mission Baptist Church and a fisherman. Survivors include four sons, Glen Boles and Wayne Boles, both of New Market, W. T. Boles Sr. of Mobile and Charles Boles of Scottsboro; three daughters, Edna Billions and Nancy Johnson, both of New Market, and Barbara Boles of Hazel Green; his children’s mother, Bertha Boles Billions; two brothers, Carson Boles and Cecil Boles, both of Elora, Tenn.; and 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla with the Revs. Mike Fitch and Rodney Boles Sr. officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Cochran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Family Care.
