He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Warsaw, a son of the late Harold and Doris Firestine Burns. He drove a bus for Warsaw Central School for many years and also drove for Wyoming Transit. He was a member of the Warsaw branch of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Anita Skidmore Burns, 4 sons, Jim (Lisa) Burns of Oneida, George (Nancy) Burns of Dunkirk, Rick Burns of Tennessee and Michael (Michelle) Burns of Tennessee; a stepson, David (Tricia) Strathearn of Warsaw; a brother, Roger (Linda) Burns of New Jersey; a stepbrother, Richard Williams of Ellicottville, a stepsister, Patricia Perks of Ellicottville, 7 grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was father of the late Marcia Burns. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at Church of Jesus Christ Latter day Saints on Linwood Avenue Extension. Burial in Warsaw Cemetery.
