MUNCIE - Doug D. Chambers, 62, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Muncie on March 13, 1951 to the late Guy and Margie (Snyder) Chambers. Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post #651 and Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #73. He was a truck driver for eleven years and most recently drove for Dart. He enjoyed fishing, watching John Wayne movies, bowling, fishing and driving his truck.

Doug will be missed by his loving wife of forty years, Kathy (Faussett) Chambers; a son, Shawn Chambers; daughter, Shelly Miller (husband, Michael); five grandchildren, Pfc. Jacob Chambers, Meggan Ulmer, Jasen Ulmer Jr., Katelynn Ulmer and Tristen Miller; his mother in-law, Marie Faussett.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Freddie Faussett.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February, 8, 2014 at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams St. Muncie with Pastor Jim Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Delaware County Honor Guard following the service at the mortuary.

Friends and family may visit from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Parson Mortuary.

Family has requested that donations be made to the family c/o Parson Mortuary with envelopes available at the mortuary.
